BETA WAVES β 13-30 HZ
Awake normal alert consciousness. Externaly focused

Our Whole Beats only contain Delta, Theta, Alpha and possibly low Beta waves. Too much time in high Beta can cause unwanted anxeity and headaches. Studies show we spend most of our day in Beta naturally because of our fast paced lives. There is also another brain wave called Gamma, not a lot of research has been done on this brain wave but it has shown promising results. As further research becomes available, we may consider this frequency in our Whole Beats.

Brain waves can be read as frequencies associated with various mental states. You can train your brain to change your brainwave frequency by learning meditation and relaxation techniques. However, it can take weeks, and for some people even years to experience the proven and powerful benefits of brainwave entrainment through meditation alone. Using brain wave entrainment, like Whole Beats and other binaural beat technology, you can coax your brain waves to a certain frequency to achieve the mental state associated with that frequency anytime you want. Plus once your brain becomes accustom to certain frequencies it becomes easier to achieve that frequency on your own, with out the need for binaural beat audio technology. Think of it like conditioning your mind to work at its whole capacity. Read more below on the different types of brain wave frequencies and their functions.
BETA WAVES β 13-30 HZ
Studies show Beta is our most dominant brain wave pattern. The Beta brain wave frequency causes us to be consciously alert and externally focused. We are in Beta when we are wide awake, alert, active and engaged in mental activity, usually involving our more analytical left hemisphere of our brain. We are also in Beta when we feel tense, agitated, hurried, pressured, fearful, and stressed. When beta wave activity becomes very intense, our brain hemispheres become less synchronized.

This is the brainwave for the fight-flight response
-
Increased external concentration and alertness
-
Improved logic, reasoning and critical thinking
-
Feelings of anxiety, stress, scattered unfocused thought
-
Needed for day to day functioning
-
Can also cause a state of insomnia
ALPHA WAVES α 8 - 13 HZ
The lower Alpha frequency is generated when our thoughts are really not concentrated and our minds are in a relaxed state such as daydreaming or light meditation. We also experience Alpha brain waves when we are gently busy with every day tasks like taking a shower, doing light housework, or even routine driving. Alpha is considered to be the bridge between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind.

-
Increases athletic performance and cerebral blood flow
THETA WAVES Θ 4 - 8 HZ
In the Theta frequency, it is common for people to feel as if they are in a trance, where the mind feels as though you are sleep but at the same time conscious of what is happening around it. This is a common goal of meditation. Theta waves also encourage visualization and creative thinking. Studies show 15-30 minutes of Theta meditation each day can considerably improve a person’s overall health and well-being. Research also concludes that Theta meditation can reduce need for sleep. Theta brings the mind into a very relaxed state, which is highly receptive to direct suggestion under hypnosis. Just as with Alpha, the Theta frequency synchronizes our brain hemispheres and we experience whole brain functioning.

DELTA WAVES δ 1/2 - 4 HZ
Delta is the slowest frequency waves that our brains produce These occur when we are in deep, dreamless sleep. Delta waves are very beneficial for the body, which restores and heals itself in this state. The delta state releases anti-aging hormones, like melatonin, DHEA, and Human growth hormone (HGH). HGH preserves the skin, bone density, cartilage, and the joints, and speeds up the healing process of joint and cartilage injuries. HGH can also aids in relieving physical pain. Delta’s very slow frequency brings about ultimate relaxation, ultimate healing, ultimate spiritual connection and the ultimate connection with the subconscious mind. It is considered to be the gateway to the unconscious mind and the collective unconscious, bringing access to the universal mind or psyche.
